Studied piano with mother and Robert Tempest; piano in Leipsic with Martin Krausc; instrumentation with Richard Hofmann; graduate in theory and conducting, Karl Schroe-der, Sondershausen Cons. Conducted opera and symphony orchestras in Europe. Returned to U.S.; directed American Philh. Soc, New York; also musical productions under auspices of Victor Herbert. Conducted Sixth Regiment Pa. Band; later directed own orchestra and taught music. Foreign correspondent for musical magazines, Concert-Goer New York and musical editor for music publishers. Producer of numerous operettas and revues. Translator of plays and lyrics from France, Italy, Spain, Germany.
